Predator 212 and Max Torque Clutch
Nov 3rd 2020
I have the predator 212 and the max torque clutch when it says when the crankshaft is not drilled and tap I'm guessing it means if there's not a hole at the end of the crankshaft where the bolt lock washer, and flat washer goes into? So do I need to use the bolt lock washer, and flat washer at the end of the crankshaft if I have the set screws or would I have to use the set screws and the bolt and washer?
I have not seen a Predator 212 that did not have the crank drilled and tapped. MaxTorque does not want you to use set screws. It is easier on the clutch bushing and the chain if the clutch has some "float" on the crankshaft. The key will lock the clutch to the crank and the clutch will self align once the engine and chain start spinning. We only use set screws when a crankshaft is not drilled and tapped Just use the bolt and large washer at the end of the crank and you will be fine!
